Who’s got the Habit? Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes wears the Alie Shoe Cut

Katie Holmes wore the Alie Shoe Cut in Adore to Chelsea Piers in New York yesterday. She paired the jeans with A.L.C.’s color block sweater and suede boots, perfect for a fall day outside. We only wish we had a pair for Suri! You can see Katie taking a turn at horror in Guillermo del Toro’s new flick, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, in theaters now.

Thanks to Just Jared for first spotting this! Find the Alie Shoe Cut online at Code C.

On Trend: All Things Python

HABITUAL Audrey legging in Black Mamba

While Vogue attributes this spring’s python trend to the Egyptian Cobra that recently escaped from the Bronx Zoo (In case you missed it, a parody Twitter account @BronxZoosCobra was the talk of the town, gaining over 240,000 followers and receiving offers for a stay at the Plaza Hotel and an endorsement deal with SKYY Vodka, among other things), this is actually the most recent iteration of a larger, ongoing animal leather and exotic skin trend. Python has found home this season on everything from YSL platforms to bags, and you can even get a python pedicure treatment.

Our own take on snake is the Audrey legging in the wash Black Mamba. This is a black treatment with plenty of shine and a leathery snakeskin detail. The name comes from an African snake called the Black Mamba, the fastest snake in the world and also one of the most venomous. We like to pair it with a simple black or white top and clean shoes to contrast the energy of the legging. Choose a bright polish on your next manicure to add a bit of color.

If you live in the LA area, you can find it exclusively at Nordstrom South Coast Plaza, Mission Viejo, Brea, or Thousand Oaks, or at Code C in West Hollywood. The style will ship to additional stores later this year.

First Look: Alice Skinny in Jupiter with Studs

Alice Skinny in Jupiter with Studs

If you’re looking for a warm weather jean with a little bit of punch, we are really excited that the Alice Skinny in the wash ‘Jupiter with Studs’ is going on sale this week. Jupiter is a lighter wash with a fresh summery vibe, but we’ve toughened it up with tiny metal studs on the Glory pocket. You can find this one at Code C in Los Angeles or at E Street Denim in Chicago. Just in time for the windy city’s big thaw!

First Look! Audrey Legging in Black Mamba in C Magazine

Look for the Audrey Legging in black mamba in the “Trunk Show” feature of April’s C Magazine. Black mamba is a fabric treatment that gives the legging a sexy snakeskin look with plenty of shine and texture. We recommend pairing it with a simple tee or tank in black or white to balance (and not distract from) the glitzy look of the pants. We loved the pant so much we named it after the black mamba, the fastest snake in the world and also one of the most venomous.

If you are a Southern California lady, you can find it exclusively at Nordstrom South Coast Plaza, Mission Viejo, Brea or Thousand Oaks, or at Code C in West Hollywood.C Magazine Trunk Show - April

Up Close and HABITUAL: Code C Denim Fitting and Cocktails

Code C is a boutique in the Sunset Plaza area of West Hollywood. They set themselves apart from other boutiques by featuring entire couture collections from several top designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Viktor & Rolf and Dsquared, whose lines are rarely stocked altogether as the designer intended them, and available for the public to view and shop. Yesterday, Code C owners Andrea and Marzia Rossetto opened their doors to HABITUAL for a full day of denim fittings and an evening cocktail event.

Code C Storefront, Sunset Blvd.

We invited friends of the brand to come by for drinks and a custom HABITUAL denim experience, including an expert fitting and on-the-spot hem. Some of our favorite comic actresses came to try on the line, including Debi Mazar, Angela Kinsey, Rachael Harris, and Cheryl Hines, as well as Nip/Tuck’s Kelly Carlson and the beautiful Sara Shahi from USA Network’s Fairly Legal.
