We are on the road! This week, we are in New York for Fashion Coterie at the Javits Center. If you stop by, we are on Level 3 Booth #7815. Here’s a sneak peek at some of our new patterned coated denim and new styles! What do you think of them?

Plenty of jewelry lines have begun incorporating rough hewn and natural looking gemstones into looks, but designer Natalie Dissel just might be leading the pack. Her work features super luxe, dreamy, nature inspired works, including specialty items like cufflinks for men (or women). A pair of earrings featuring a bright crystal or gemstone color is an excellent way to pick up on colored denim, or complement the edginess of a dark pair of coated jeans or a moto look.

During our last trip to Paris, we stumbled across the most charming hat workshop, La cerise sur le chapeau. (La cerise sur le chapeau means Cherry on the Hat in English, and we love how that’s incorporated in their logo!) Located in the 6th arrondissement, right by Saint Germain des Pres, this shop brings you back to the days of the Rat Pack and Bonnie and Clyde. But, we all know the Parisians are among the top fashionistas of the world, so La cerise sur le chapeau also makes sure to add a contemporary touch to their designs. Each hat is hand-made and you can personalize the colors and details, so you’ll leave the store with your own unique hat. Ideally, we’d love to have a hat for each color in our coated denim collection!

We love to dress tonally, picking one color and taking it from head to toe, but the problem with tonal dressing is that you’re often restricted to the neutral colors in your closet – grey, black and khaki. One of the reasons we are so excited about the colored denim trend is that you can get a tonal look in a new color, while still enjoying the comfort and fit of a jean. Start with a great pair of colored denim, here we have the Alice Skinny Coated Denim in Chianti, and look for a pair of shoes that pick up the tones of the jean. Up top, we like a comfortable light-colored shirt, covered by a comfortable sweater in the same tone as the jean. While you can definitely do a top, pants and shoes in the same tone, be sure to break up the color a tiny bit where possible. A contrasting shirt collar, patterned purse, textured belt, coat, or even strong jewelry can do the trick.
