Today, we hosted a preview for fashion editors to check out our Fall 2013 Collection. While we showed off some of our most anticipated washes and cuts, we got to enjoy with yummy treats by Bite Me Catering and cute Habitual cupcakes by Alana Jones-Mann. Remember when we were showing you sneak peeks of a photo shoot from last month? Well, here is the first official image from that photo shoot, featured in the August issue of Nylon! We love how our Fall 2012 brand images came out – from the graininess in the photos, to the looks we were able to capture from the model, to the outfits styled with our favorite denim (of course); we could go on…it was all too much fun! Inspired by the beautiful black glossy feathers of the raven bird, our newest jeans Alice Coated Skinny jeans in Raven are now officially available for pre-sale at Nordstrom starting today and will be available for purchase online in two weeks. Like the rest of the HABITUAL Fall 2012 Collection inspiration, head designer Jennifer Wojinski directly referenced the feathers in the surrealist painting by Remedios Varo, “The Creation of the Birds” for the Alice Coated Skinny jeans in Raven. A great transition piece from summer to fall, you’ll add a touch of edge to any outfit with these jeans!

Recently debuted in NYLON Magazine’s Young Hollywood issue on Bella Heathcoate, our Amaranth ultra hi rise skinny in graffiti print is the stunning exception this season, not the rule. We have seen floral denim everywhere this season, but to really stand apart from the crowd, incorporate patterned pieces into your wardrobe that are as unique and beautiful as you are. We have created a new, edgy patterned denim that is truly one-of-a-kind.
We asked HABITUAL Design Director Jennifer Wojinski about how she came up with this unique pattern. Jennifer explains, “Most brands choose to go with standard floral motifs or ikats. We completely followed our inspiration and desire to be different and created a unique print instead of just following the crowd…we do prints, but we do it our way.”
Wojinski also shares that she saw beyond the standard florals and took the fashion road less traveled with a graffiti print inspired by the Surrealist art movement, which also happens to be the inspiration for the HABITUAL Fall 2012 Collection. This particular print was custom designed and is not only one-of-a-kind and produced exclusively by HABITUAL, but every pair is truly an original as each pant’s pattern is unique and different from the next. Within the print you’ll find feathers, eyes, words, numbers, text and more that help to create and express the ‘magical’ world of HABITUAL…it even contains the HABITUAL name…see if you can find it!

We’re beyond excited to share the newest colors of our coated denim. After debuting our Color Coated Denim with warmer hues like Luggage, Chianti, and Vermilion earlier in the year, we’re turning down the temperature a bit with a new collection in an icier palette. As we saw on the Spring 2012 runways, cooler colors like dark purple and turquoise are right on trend, and we’re bringing our tones out early. Look for the same Coated you love, now in Dark Feather, Dark Taupe, Turquoise, Alabaster and Purple Mountain. The first shipments will hit stores in November!
