A new exhibit at The Museum of Modern Art in New York allows you to stay dry while walking through the rain. Design group, Random International created this beautiful and interactive exhibition as a part of MoMA PS1’s “EXPO 1: New York” series. The installation takes over an adjacent lot next to the museum and offers visitors the experience of controlling water. The falling drops pause when it detects a human body, although viewers will see a sheet of rain in front of and behind them, depending on how many people occupy the space. Viewers are encouraged to think about the ecological challenges we are facing and the roles that science, technology and human ingenuity play in the environment as they stroll through the rain.
The “Rain Room” installation runs from May 12 to July 28.
