This beautiful watercolor by Georgia O’Keeffe has provided much inspiration for our Spring 2013 line. We love the muted yet rich colors O’Keeffe uses to capture a wonderful snapshot of nature. According to Barbara Lynes, this painting (above) was inspired by the artist’s early visits to York Beach, Maine in the 1920s. Her work is borderline abstract and many of her paintings remind us of the satellite imagery –O’ Keeffe’s paintings and satellite imagery are both looking at nature in abstract,expressing beauty in shape, pattern and color… just from two very different perspectives.
