We took a trip to one of our favorite places in Los Angeles this past weekend, Exposition Park Rose Garden. Located in the middle of a bustling urban city, we love that we can find an oasis at The Rose Garden.
If you are anything like us, when we go out to a restaurant, we always have to take a little peek at other people’s dishes before ordering. So what if there was a website where you could see photos of dishes before you went to the restaurant and ordered? Well, we just found out about Foodspotting (although it launched in 2009), a brilliant website and phone app that has fulfilled this void for us! On Foodspotting, you can search by restaurant to see pictures of various dishes that diners have posted. Foodspotting enables Foodseekers to have a place where they can find information about specific dishes, not just the restaurant’s overall review. For example, we wanted to look up popular dishes at New York restaurant Red Rooster, and their cornbread popped up as the highlighted dish; and we also wanted to find reviews on the best mac and cheese dishes in town, click here to see what came up!
There is only one day left of the countdown to the first weekend of Coachella Music Festival. As we mentioned before, we can’t wait to see Gotye perform. However, this week’s “Bands We Love,” is not Gotye again, but the girl in Gotye’s chart-topping hit, “Something That I Used to Know”, Kimbra. Although Kimbra won’t be performing at Coachella, we absolutely cannot wait for her debut album, “Vows”, to release this May. At only twenty-one years old, Kimbra both recorded and arranged the album at home as well as in various studios. This rising star is busy touring the nation with Gotye and working on a new single with another hit band, Foster the People. We’ll definitely be playing Kimbra’s song, “Settle Down”, on our car ride to Coachella!
Launched with the desire to celebrate the design and aesthetic of vices and create artifacts from these with an eye on pop culture, Cast of Vices offers a full collection of stylish and unique accessories. We immediately fell in love after first spotting this brand at Oaknyc. Based in Los Angeles, the entire collection is hand crafted in the USA featuring .925 sterling silver, semi-precious stones, and 14K gold. Thankfully, all of their products can be purchased through their online store. Some of our favorites include the Coming or Going bracelets made of gorgeous lambskin leathers and plated with silver or gold, and the leather Thank You shopping bags.
Kick butt while still looking gorgeous? That’s what Jessica Alba was recently seen doing while wearing a pair of HABITUAL Alice Skinny coated jeans in Taj Mahal! Apparently, she wasn’t really fighting, but was at the Bellevarrado Studios for a YouTube commercial shoot in Los Angeles, California. This is not the first time Jessica has been seen in combat and looking glam; she played a spy in her most recent role in Spy Kids 4 and previously Invisible Women in Fantastic Four.
If you haven’t noticed yet, this season is ALL about color. From Boardwalk Empire sets and costumes to Parisian Fashion House, Rochas‘, bag on Luisaviaroma, this 1920’s inspired mint green color is popping everywhere (just like our recent post on peach). We love this gorgeous and stronger update to a pastel green. This minty green has a little more life and punch to it than a normal pastel green.
Although our new Alice Skinny in Kiss is only currently available for pre-order, we couldn’t wait to share with you this new look! This color coated jean is a beautiful nude with a “kiss” of pink. This color works with this seasons’ pastels trend or be worn as the perfect neutral base to any outfit. We think “kiss” is the new black!
We loved Amy Smart in Varsity Blues and we now absolutely love her in our Harrison Ultra High Rise Bell Bottom in Serene! Amy was spotted wearing HABITUAL while shopping in Los Angeles with friends. You can catch Amy on Showtime’s hit show, Shameless, in her recurring character as Jasmine Hollander.

From shoes to flowers, peach and its cousin neon peach are popping up everywhere these days. What we love about this orange incarnation is that it absolutely screams spring and summer. It’s a nice amount of added color without getting too in-your-face about it. Our take on the trend is this peachy coral for our Almas Skinny Jean. The look was such a hit that we’re actually all sold out!
